Ekaya Banaras 

The onset of festive season calls for a revamped wardrobe. Right in time for the upcoming celebrations, Ekaya Banaras has launched its festive 2020 collection titled ‘Gul’.  The collection sees the reinterpretation of the traditional hand-weaving techniques from Ukrania. The lineup features brocade saris, lehengas, skirts and blouses and highlights motifs like diamonds, triangles, chevron patterns, circles, and squares that are central to ancient Ukrainian embroideries. 

Coach x Jennifer Lopez

It’s safe to say that Jennifer Lopez knows a thing or two about handbags. So it comes as no surprise that the superstar has collaborated with Coach for a compact bag titled the Hutton Bag. Crafted from calf leather and snakeskin in a trio of pinks, the versatile chain-strap bag features gold hardware and a special tag showcasing the superstar’s signature. Price at Rs 48,500, the covetable colour-block design will make for the perfect Diwali gift this season. 

Levi’s

Keeping it mind the uncertainty of the current times, Levi’s has launched a new capsule collection in collaboration with Amplifier, a non-profit design lab that builds art and media experiments to enhance the most important movements. The latest drop includes slogan T-shirts and sweatshirts showcasing bold and impactful messages and artwork that drive home the message of safety and togetherness. 

Anjul Bhandari

Known for her chikankari work, Anjul Bhandari’s ensembles are nothing short of regal. For autumn/winter 2020 the designer has unveiled a special collection titled ‘Pashimna-E-Awadh.’ The new line highlights and blends Kashmir’s signature handwoven Pashmina with Awadh’s intricate chikankari hand embroidery. Perfect for the upcoming winter season, the line showcases kurta and sharara sets, shawls, saris in ivory, beige and blacks.

Gur Organics

Pernia Qureshi’s eco-conscious label Gur is bringing its mindful approach to festive dressing with an all-new collection. To reduce the impact of textile production, ‘Fiza’ is crafted in fabrics such as recycled silks, organzas and uses recycled gold sequin pipes for embellishment. There are also pieces made in textiles from plant-based fibres such as white rose, and banana, eucalyptus, aloe, and orange can be found in other collections. The contemporary line features a neutral palette and free-flowing shapes like kaftans, wrap dresses, belted off-shoulder midis and plated jacket dresses for year-round versatility and re-wearability.

The Essentials Story

Developed as a necessity in the pandemic, The Essentials Story combines smart design with timeless aesthetics in a range of utilitarian bags. Founded by Salma Merchant Rahmathulla, the line of sling bags, wallets and multi-functional packs were designed in response to the need of having your essentials on-the-go. Furthermore, the products are crafted in vegan materials and made in energy-efficient factories in India. In collaboration with Mumbai-based non-profit organisation Sneha, the label also gives back. Profits earned from each sale are directed towards donating hygiene products to the lesser privileged women in the city.

Good Earth

This festive season, Good Earth Sustain has launched their latest collection titled ‘Raat Ki Rani’, which includes 4 different looks that are inspired by various traditions in our country. Featuring a range of chogas, kaftans and kurtas styled with pyjamas, flowing shararas and lehengas, the collection is perfect for the upcoming Diwali festivities. With a colour palette of earthy tones such as burgundy and sap greens, and fabrics like velvets, brocades, mashru, silks and Chanderi treated with traditional intricate work, the new collection is the perfect amalgamation of old-world and modern-day influences.
