Okaz/Saudi Gazette

RIYADH — The Ministry of Human Resources and Social Development unveiled plans to use artificial intelligence (AI) system in its drive to detect fake Saudization.

Speaking to Okaz/Saudi Gazette, sources at the ministry said that it is cooperating with the General Organization for Social Insurance (GOSI) to verify the validity of the data of those registered with the organization as part of procedures to monitor fake Saudization.

The procedures include verification of cases of fictitious registration.

“The ministry will use AI that tracks the registration of subscribers and analyzes them based on certain criteria to discover suspicious cases and refer them to field inspection teams for verification and recording violations and imposing penalties,” the sources said.

According to the ministry, when any citizen submits a complaint to the ministry or GOSI to the effect that his or her registration with GOSI does not entail actual work relationship with an employer, the organization would examine the case to ascertain the authenticity of the complaint.

If it is proven that there is no work relationship between the employer and the worker, the case will be referred to GOSI’s panel tasked to investigate violations.

In the event of vindication of the complaint, punitive measures stipulated in the Social Insurance Law will be taken against the employer.

The penalties include fine valuing two times the amount of the contributions due for that registered period or SR10,000, whichever is higher in each case of violation, and the periods of subscription will be deemed invalid. The firm involved in the violation will also be barred from recruitment, the ministry sources added.
