Shares of CROMPTON (up 1.91 per cent) , VIP Industries (up 1.5 per cent) , Whirlpool of India (up 0.93 per cent) , Voltas (up 0.7 per cent) and Titan Company Ltd (up 0.46 per cent) were among the top gainers.
While Symphony (down 1.42 per cent) , Blue Star (down 1.37 per cent) , PC Jeweller (down 1.32 per cent) , TTK Prestige (down 0.89 per cent) and Rajesh Exports (down 0.26 per cent) were the top losers in the index.
The S&P BSE Consumer Durables index was trading 0.59 per cent up at 26,021.01 around 11:33 am.
Benchmark NSE Nifty50 index was down 55.20 points at 11980.6 , while the BSE Sensex was down 149.13 points at 40,764.69.
Among the 50 stocks in the Nifty index, 15 were trading in the green, while 35 were in the red.
Shares of Vodafone Idea, Narayana Hrudayalaya Ltd., YES Bank, Bharti Airtel, NTPC, Tata Motors, United Spirits, SAIL and Wockhardt were among the most traded shares on the NSE.
