Shares of CROMPTON (up 1.9 per cent) , Whirlpool of India (up 1.19 per cent) , TTK Prestige (up 0.61 per cent) and Rajesh Exports (up 0.03 per cent) were among the top gainers.
While VIP Industries (down 3.04 per cent) , Symphony (down 1.65 per cent) , PC Jeweller (down 1.54 per cent) , Voltas (down 1.07 per cent) , Titan Company Ltd (down 0.46 per cent) and Blue Star (down 0.36 per cent) were the top losers in the index.
The S&P BSE Consumer Durables index was trading 0.2 per cent down at 25,871.75 around 11:41 am.
Benchmark NSE Nifty50 index was down 76.60 points at 12052.9 , while the BSE Sensex was down 252.22 points at 40,946.44.
Among the 50 stocks in the Nifty index, 10 were trading in the green, while 40 were in the red.
Shares of Vodafone Idea, Narayana Hrudayalaya Ltd., YES Bank, Bharti Airtel, NTPC, Tata Motors, United Spirits, SAIL, Wockhardt and Ibull HousingFin were among the most traded shares on the NSE.
