New Canaan conducting survey Jan. 7 to Jan. 28


Random New Canaan residents will be contacted by phone and online Jan. 7 to Jan. 28 as the town seeks feedback on programs, services and priorities.

The survey will be conducted by GreatBlue Research, Inc., a professional market research firm located in Glastonbury.

“This survey will be important in helping the town government gain a better understanding of the priorities of its residents and will act as a guide in making decisions that best reflect the goals and needs of its population,” according to a release from First Selectman Kevin Moynihan.

A random sample of residents in New Canaan will be called and the name of the firm (GreatBlue) will show up on caller ID technology. Those who do not have Caller ID will see a phone number that appears as 860-740-4000, or a variation of that (860-740-4005, -4006 or -4007).


Residents will receive information about the online survey by email blast and news media coverage. Town officials encourage residents to participate in the telephone and online surveys.

As required by the Code of Ethics of the National Council on Public Polls and the United States Privacy Act of 1974, GreatBlue Research, Inc. maintains the anonymity of respondents to surveys that the firm conducts. No information will be released that might, in any way, reveal the identity of the respondent to the Town of New Canaan.
