This Saturday was light in big-time clashes, but that does not mean there was no drama. The No. 6 Oregon, which is believed to be a college football playoff contender, fell on the road to the state of Arizona in absolute surprise.

Meanwhile, Ohio State secured the Big Ten East and a place in the game for the league title with a victory over Penn State. The Buckeyes continue to look like one of the best teams in the country.

LSU, the number 1 team in the playoff ranking, had few problems with Arkansas. Elsewhere in the SEC, Alabama crushed West Carolina, while Georgia rejected a return effort from Texas A&M.

At this point, we have only eight or nine teams that have a chance in the playoff. It will be fascinating to see how everything develops.

This is what we think the top 25 of the AP survey will look like this Sunday:

  1. LSU
  2. Ohio State
  3. Clemson
  4. Georgia
  5. Alabama
  6. Utah (plays Arizona late)
  7. Oklahoma
  8. Minnesota
  9. Florida
  10. Baylor
  11. Wisconsin
  12. Michigan
  13. Oregon
  14. Penn state
  15. Notre Dame
  16. Brown
  17. Cincinnati
  18. Memphis
  19. Iowa
  20. Boise State (plays late in the state of Utah)
  21. Oklahoma State
  22. Navy
  23. Appalachian State
  24. Virginia Tech
  25. Virginia
