ROCKFORD, Ill. (WTVO) — Residents hoping to see improvements in Rockford met Thursday at a community input session.
The meeting, held by the National Resource Network and the City of Rockford, took place at Crusader Community Health, at 1200 W. State Street.
Data and input from interviews and focus groups will be used to create a neighborhood revitalization strategy.
Some residents say they’d like to see more retail and grocery stores on the West side.
Janice Morris says she attended the meeting “just to get more insight on Rockford, because I was born here. I love the city. I moved away for quite a few years, but I came back. So, I just want to know what else I can do to help my city.”
A second session was held at 6 p.m. at Rockford Police District 3 Headquarters on New Towne Drive.
