The Old Rochester Regional School District is looking for input from parents as to what they are looking for in a superintendent and what they would like the superintendent to focus on.
Superintendent Doug White announced in last June that he would retire at the end of June 2020. The district is working with James Hardy, field director for the Massachusetts Association of School Committees to find a replacement for White.
The school district needs online or in-person feedback from staff, parents and the community to determine which criteria it should look for in a superintendent. The district collects feedback on the attributes, experience and knowledge that the new superintendent should have. The groups also let participants identify immediate tasks which the new superintendent should address.
The focus group sessions for parents, community members, school employees, school council and PTO members will be conducted between Nov. 13 and 20. The parent focus groups will be Monday Nov. 18 at 1 p.m. and 7 p.m in the Superintendent’s Conference Room at 135 Marion Road. A complete schedule for other groups will also be at www.oldrochester.org.
Members of the school community are also invited to provide input for the search process through an online survey that is available at https://www.surveymonkey.com/r/OldRochester2019
