Duke staff and faculty have a chance to buy Apple computers and iPads at discounts on November 20 when Duke University Stores hosts its Faculty and Staff Appreciation Sale.
Since 2016, Duke University Stores and Apple have worked together to offer these one-day sales that provide Duke employees an opportunity to purchase select Apple products at below the already low-price educational institutions offer.
“This is as good a price as you’re going to find,” said John Gorsuch, associate general manager of retail sales for Duke University Stores. “The education pricing is pretty good day in and day out. Depending on the item, this can be up to 8 percent below that.”
Duke employees can purchase an iMac for as low as $1,287.08 or a MacBook Air for $781.08. MacBook Pros can be had for as low as $1,103.08, and an iPad Pro can be purchased for as little as $689.08.
Employees interested in purchasing an Apple product at the sale are encouraged to reserve their items in advance. Anyone who reserves an item prior to 12 p.m. on Monday, Nov. 18, can pick it up at any time between 8:30 a.m.-7 p.m. on Nov. 20.

“If you see what you want, the best thing you can do in order to have the best experience is to reserve it,” Gorsuch said. “We will hold it for the entire day for you. People can show up the day of, but you’ll have to make your selection from what we have in stock.”
If you add an Apple Watch Series 4 to your purchase, $100 will be deducted from the regular price of the watch.
Staff members from Duke Credit Union will be on hand to offer financing options.
