SB Nation Reacts: Rotten end to season sinks Seahawks fan confidence

Welcome to SB Nation Reacts, a survey of fans across the NFL. Each week, we send out questions to the most plugged in Seattle Seahawks fans, and fans across the country. Sign up here to join Reacts.

Well you knew this was coming, didn’t you?

With the horrid performance and loss to the Los Angeles Rams in Super Wild Card weekend, Seahawks fans are extremely down on the team. According to the most recent SB Nation Reacts survey, 24 percent of Seahawks fan respondents said they are confident the team is headed in the right direction. Just two weeks ago it was at 92 percent for the NFC West clinching victory over the Rams.

To my recollection this is tied for the worst fan confidence we have ever had in the history of FanPulse/SB Nation Reacts.

While the Seahawks are done for the season, the NFL Playoffs move on. Before we get to the Divisional Round, 49 percent of fans said the best moment of the Super Wild Card weekend came when the Cleveland Browns took a shocking 28-0 lead over the Pittsburgh Steelers in the opening quarter. Cleveland would win 48-37 (Scorigami!) and end their lengthy postseason drought.

Thankfully the Darious Williams pick-six didn’t place in the top three. Washington quarterback Taylor Heinicke diving into the end zone received the second most votes with 24 percent of the vote. That was followed by the Nickelodeon broadcast of the Bears and Saints game with 11 percent. I didn’t realize it’d be that popular but evidently it was.

That broadcast was one of the most talked about things in the NFL through the weekend. It led many to ask what other non-sports channels could make for an entertaining NFL broadcast. When NFL fans were asked what other network would make for a good broadcast, 40 percent picked the Food Network.

That was trailed by 28 percent for BET, 17 percent for HGTV and 15 percent for Bravo.

I really wish we had better options than that. NFL on Showtime with Bill Burr on commentary? Sign me up for that plus all of the uncensored stuff we don’t normally get to here during a game.

Lastly, after seeing the road team win four of the six games, fans expect to see a change in the divisional round. All four home teams were picked by NFL fans to win their game. For the record, I am picking the Packers, Chiefs, Bills, but my upset is the Buccaneers to send the Saints into the offseason and Drew Brees into retirement.
