Tempur-Pedic are a popular option for many different sleep products. Within their portfolio, they offer the TEMPUR-breeze° line of mattresses. This series of cooling mattresses may be particularly suitable for people who often get hot during sleep.

Tempur-Pedic claim that their TEMPUR-breeze° line of mattresses can run up to eight degrees cooler than other memory foam mattresses.

They also note that the mattresses maintain the cooler temperature throughout the night. They suggest that a cooler sleep environment can help people fall asleep faster and stay asleep longer.

In this article, we look at the Tempur-Pedic breeze° series of mattresses in more detail and review their features.

Tempur-Pedic mattresses use TEMPUR materials. The company claim that the material is a high density viscoelastic foam that adapts to a person’s body shape, weight, and temperature for nightlong comfort and support.

The Tempur-Pedic brand have earned several awards, such as the J.D. Power, Popular Mechanics Home, and Good Housekeeping awards.

Furthermore, the Space Technology Hall of Fame inducted the company for improving life on Earth while using materials and innovations originally created for space travel.

The company offer a 10-year warranty, 90-night trial, and free white glove delivery when purchasing a Tempur-Pedic breeze° mattress. Tempur-Pedic are CertiPUR-US certified, and all products comply with the Consumer Product Safety Improvement Act.

The brand also generally receive positive reviews, with many commenting that the mattresses are comfortable and help prevent pains and aches. However, others note that they find the mattresses too soft and that the mattresses can cause backache.

Products from Tempur-Pedic tend to be more expensive than those of many other mattress brands. Some customers may qualify for financing to spread the cost. However, people on a tighter budget or those that do not want to invest so heavily in a mattress may need to consider other options.

Tempur-Pedic offer cooling mattresses under the name TEMPUR-breeze°. The brand claim that the mattress series contains cooling technology that allows people to sleep in a cooler sleep environment. This may be beneficial for people who often get hot while they sleep.

The company state that they designed their breeze° mattresses in their thermal laboratory. The series of mattresses currently offer two levels of cooling: three degrees and eight degrees.

Tempur-Pedic suggest that the materials they use in the breeze° line of mattresses absorb excessive heat and enable better airflow.

There are no independent studies proving how well the mattress cools the person or how well it works for others. However, there are studies that indicate sleeping in a cooler environment can help.

In a 2012 study, researchers observed that thermal environment was one of the most important factors that affected sleep. The researchers found that sleeping in hotter environments increased a person’s wakefulness throughout the night and that cooler temperatures did not negatively impact sleep.

A 2017 study yielded similar results. In this study, participants reported worse sleep during summer months, when both temperatures and humidity are higher, indicating that sleeping in cooler temperatures may positively affect sleep.

Currently, Tempur-Pedic offer four mattresses in the TEMPUR-breeze° range.

Please note that the writer of this article has not tried any of these products. All information presented here is purely research-based.

3° Cooler – Medium (PRObreeze)

This mattress is the most affordable option within the breeze° line of mattresses.

The website states that the 3° Cooler – Medium (PRObreeze) is capable of keeping a person up to three degrees cooler than other mattresses throughout the night.

The mattress has a medium firmness and contains various layers of foam. A 2015 review suggests that medium-firm mattresses are the best at promoting quality sleep and comfort and proper spinal alignment.

The website states that the proprietary SmartClimate, PureCool+, and TEMPUR-CM+ technology helps keep the mattress cool.

3° Cooler – Medium Hybrid (PRObreeze)

This variant is a hybrid mattress. This means that in addition to the layers of foam, it also contains a layer of coils known as innersprings.

According to the company, this mattress is capable of keeping people three degrees cooler during the whole night.

It also contains the same materials that Tempur-Pedic claim are responsible for the cooling effect.

8° Cooler – Firm (LUXEbreeze)

This mattress is the luxury version of the standard breeze° models.

Tempur-Pedic claim that this version is capable of keeping people up to eight degrees cooler at night.

The LUXEbreeze mattresses also use the SmartClimate, PureCool+, and TEMPUR-CM+ technology that Tempur-Pedic claim absorbs heat and promotes airflow to keep people cool.

Additionally, these mattresses also contain Ventilated TEMPUR-APR material. The company claim that it is their most pressure-relieving material and that it is ultrabreathable.

The 8° Cooler – Firm (LUXEbreeze) mattress is available for purchase here.

8° Cooler – Soft (LUXEbreeze)

This variant is similar to the firm model, but it offers soft rather than firm support to sleepers.

Therefore, this model may be more suitable for those who prefer to sleep on a softer mattress.

If possible, people considering a LUXEbreeze mattress may want to try both the firm and the soft model to see which suits them better.

Tempur-Pedic claim that their TEMPUR-breeze° mattresses help keep people up to three or eight degrees cooler, depending on the option they choose. Evidence suggests sleeping in a cooler environment may help some people sleep better.

A person may wish to test a mattress before buying it, if possible, and take advantage of the 90-night trial that Tempur-Pedic offer, to see whether it is a good fit.
