St. Francis Hall in Athol will not be holding its Wednesday weekly dinners until further notice due to the CORVID-19 pandemic.
All indoor programs at the Athol Bird and Nature Club have been canceled through May. The club will periodically re-evaluate its status. The April 10 bird walk with Jeff Johnstone is still tentatively on but stay tuned as the date gets closer. Please take this COVID-19 pandemic seriously. Practice social distancing even when in the field. Don’t carpool, keep 3-6 feet apart when birding. Find new places to explore that are not heavily used. Stay safe and see you all after this pandemic passes.
The program by entertainer Dan Kirouac scheduled March 23 at the Petersham Senior Center has been canceled due to coronavius concerns. It will be rescheduled at a later date.
The Massachusetts Emergency Management Agency (MEMA) and the Baker-Polito Administration are working with the U.S. Small Business Administration (SBA) to activate the Economic Injury Disaster Loan (EIDL) program which would provide assistance to eligible businesses and non-profits impacted by COVID-19. This is the first step in the process. A minimum threshold of affected businesses within Massachusetts has to be met. To do this, affected small businesses and non-profits should download, complete, and submit the SBhttps://www.mass.gov/doc/sba-eidl-worksheet-and-instructions/download and instructions to expedite activation of the EIDL program. This is the initial survey form and not the actual loan application.
