Hyderabad: Telangana Rashtra Samithi floor leader in Lok Sabha, Nama Nageswara Rao has said that the centre has not fulfilled a single promise made to the State of Telangana in the bifurcation Act in the past six years.
Reacting to the budget in New Delhi the MP expressed anguish over the injustice meted out to the most progressive State in the country.
“While there is no mention of the funds that are due from the State from the centre, the centre one again ignored the Bayyaram Steel Factory, Kazipet Railway Coach factory and setting up of Tribal University in the State,” Nama said. He pointed out the State’s growth has come down drastically because of the policies of the central government. “Despite of that Telangana is still number one,” he added.
Criticizing the centre for not spelling out the way it aims to double farmers’ income within two years, he said that the budget made no mention of the crucial inputs like fertilizers and minimum support prices. Telangana government under the leadership of K Chandrashekhar Rao has been implementing several pro agricultural programmes particularly in the field of irrigation the MP said.
“The Telangana government has taken special interest in linking Godavari and Krishna. The government’s novel programme Rythu Bandhu was even mentioned in the Economic Survey, but there was no financial allocation for these projects,” he rued. He said that budget allocations were not commensurate with the development path taken by the Telangana government in service and development sectors.
He also pointed out that the Budget was silent on the proposed Hyderabad-Nagpur, Hyderabad-Bangalore and Hyderabad-Warangal industrial corridors. “There is also no mention cording national project status to Kaleshwaram even as Niti Aayog recommended it in the year 2016 itself,” Nama said. Calling the budget as disappointing he said that the TRS will raise the issues during the ongoing session.
