Players on Xbox and PS4 have already been playing FIFA 21 since October, so when will the next gen edition of the game be released?
FIFA 21 was released worldwide on Xbox One, PlayStation 4, PC and more platforms on October 9, 2020, with the Champions Edition and Ultimate Edition allowing players to get three days early access to the game.
But with both Microsoft and Sony releasing brand new next generation consoles in November, EA SPORTS had already confirmed that there would be a next gen edition of FIFA 21, which would take advantage of the additional processing power and graphical capabilities of these new consoles.

However, despite these new consoles, including the Xbox Series X, Xbox Series S and PlayStation 5, launching worldwide in mid-November, fans of FIFA 21 still had to wait in order to play the next gen version of the game.
So, when will the next gen edition of FIFA 21 be released on PS5, Xbox Series X and Xbox Series S?
FIFA 21 next gen will be released on December 4 for PS5, Xbox Series X and Xbox Series S . In addition, players who already own the current gen version of the game will be able to upgrade their digitial copy of FIFA 21 from PlayStation 4 or Xbox One to the equivalent next generation console (PlayStation 5 or Xbox Series X|S) at no additional cost.

FIFA 21 is out now on Xbox One, PlayStation 4 and PC, with the next generation version of the game set to be released on Xbox Series X, Xbox Series S and PlayStation 5 on December 4, 2020.
